Today is another day..

A very cold day at that. I woke up to hear sad news about two firemen in the city of Winnipeg had died fighting a house fire and there is another badly burned. My heart goes out to their families and fellow fire fighters. It sure makes my problems seem small compared to their lose.
After working as a paramedic for almost 8 years, I know of the comradeship we all had; paramedics, fire fighter and police. I will be saying some prayers for them all.

I did go to the doctor today but he was of little help, told me to keep doing what I was doing because I had made a correct diagnosis which was that both MCL (ligaments) are torn. We don't know how badly because a MRI would be helpful and I can not have a MRI because I have a pacemaker so having a scope is the only way to really tell and he figured with all my other problems maybe that would not be best. Now the only ongoing problem I have is a kidney that is not functioning properly but I guess he figures it doesn't matter that I can't walk or work. Can you tell I am only pissed off at him, it is useless going to these young men that are to be our doctors, they could care less that you came in, he did not examine my knees for stability, if fact he did nothing, it was a total waste of time. I called the Pan Am Clinic and the earliest I can see my doctor there is March 6 so I wait yet again.
I am very frustrated. Scott has an appointment to see a surgeon in Regina tomorrow which is good for him. I guess you have to fracture something to get to see someone right away and be younger.
I know I am ranting but I just feel that our health care system sucks big time and especially in our small towns where we have little choice who we see.
Tomorrow I am going back to work, crutches and all, I will not be able to do much but I will be there and at least will get a pay check. My boss is ok with it, there will be no exercising or cleaning so I will have to behave myself.

Now I must find a way to get people to visit my blog more often and to leave a comment now and again...
