I got my Christmas Tree Up!

I spent the afternoon digging out my Christmas tree, lights and ornaments and got the job done. It is always an emotional time for me as I remember my sister, Janice. Christmas was her favorite time of the year so as I put the lights and ornaments on several tears were shed for her. Each ornament holds a special place in my heart as I have either made it or it was given to me from my kids, my Nursery School kids or family and friends. My tree always looks loaded but I love it and can not bear to miss putting most of the ornaments on. I could probably fill another couple of trees with ornaments I made for my boys.

I love the soft glow of the tree lights and could sit for hours just watching them. I put several other decorations up around the house, some of them were made when my boys were in Kindergarten. I have a Santa mobile that Chad made when he was in Kindergarten and I still hang it. Santa's white beard is a little yellow but hey that is OK. I also have a macaroni wreath that the boys made and it was painted gold and it still gets hung every year. I guess I am a bit of a pack rat.

I put a wee fibre optic tree up at the back door along with a Santa made from a fence post and two little carolers my Mom gave me. It looks nice when the lights are off and the tree is lit and changes color.

I finished putting a star and a wreath up outside as well so other than some baking, finishing the Christmas shopping and wrapping, I am set for Christmas.

I need to do something for Ryan's 30th birthday on Tuesday, I think we will just go for pizza and beer for supper and invite his friends to join us as he has to work the next day so he can't party too hardy.

Well my productive day has come to a close, I am going to go put my feet up, grab a cup of coffee and watch the final of Amazing Race. I have no favorites left on the show but I love seeing where they have travelled to and what challenges/roadblocks they have to do. It would be so much fun going on that show.

Love your blog Judy! Your tree looks great and ready for Christmas. I missed Amazing Race tonight so will have to catch the re-run.

Great looking tree Judy. Looks magical when it's lit. It's great that you still put up things your sons made throughout their younger years.
