Today was Hubby's birthday...

Yes today Dec. 9 was my hubby's birthday and he was a busy guy. He was on call for the lab and got called in many times today as well as trying to get the house back in order following the renovations and new flooring being installed. He did pretty good and got the back hall closet back up and working, installed a new toilet in the bathroom, now he just needs to get a vanity and put the baseboards back on. Some of that may have to wait until after Christmas.

I got busy and made a stew in the crockpot (love that tool), I also made a birthday cake - Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake, turned out great. After that I got busy and cleaned and dusted my living room as well as put all the shoes back on the shoe rack in the back hall so I am ready to put the tree up tomorrow. I am excited because I do like to decorate.

Last night I did make some more Christmas cards, again keeping them simple for mailing.

I used the Lovely As A Tree set (my favorite) and I stamped it with my encore silver pad and used the stirling silver embossing powder. I heat that and then I attached some Christmas ribbon I had. I used Night of Navy cardstock on the front and whisper white cardstock for the card base. the ribbon on this one says "Have a Holly Jolly Christmas" and I did a second card where the ribbon says "Let It Snow".

I also made one with just the trees and have not decided what else to do with it. I may just stamp a seasons greeting in silver.

My next project for tomorrow, after the tree decorating is making a couple of small accordian albums, one for my little chemo boy and one for my Mom. I will share those when I complete them.

I forgot to mention that I attend a grand opening of the town arches last night. Our town is erected 14 wooden arches over the streets of Russell as well as giving the store fronts an old world theme and this will happen over the next 5 years. It is being done to hopefully attract tourism. When the arches are completed I will share some photos from tat too. Last night they had tours of a couple new shops in town, they opened an outdoor skating rink, Santa visited and they had hot chocolate for everyone that attended. It was a fun evening.
