Remembering Vimy

Like many others I watched the service for Remembering Vimy with a heavy heart. I was sadened with the news of 6 Canadian soldiers killed in Aphganistan, I felt for their families.

I have a special place in my heart for soldiers as my Dad was a Hong Kong Veteran along with his brother and my great uncle. My other uncle fought and died on D-Day. My Dad survived almost 5 years of prison camp in Japan and came home only to get killed on our farm in a tractor accident. Very unfair! My Mom was 25 yrs old with 6 kids under 8 yrs of age.

War is so senseless. Our troops remain in my thoughts and prayers as we remember them!
