I can not wait for this trip in June 2008 and I darn well better be around for it. it is going to be so awesome that I can not wait to meet all the teaRoom girls...it is so far away.
I have read this book front to back and need to go through it again to look at cottages, hotels, etc.
I have favorite things picked out to see and got all kinds of info about Prince edward Island. I have never been to the East coast so I want to see it all...
Did you know that PEI has a population of 138,000 people, that is 136,500 more than Russell; the cities are Charlottetown and Summerside, I know someone that lives in Summerside from a stamping group I am on but have never met her, maybe I will be able to; the soil is red due to iron oxide which rusts on exposure to air; land area is 280km (175 miles) tip to tip; total land area is 5,656 sq. km (2,184 sq. mi); the provincial bird is the blue jay; the provincial flower is the lady's slipper (love them); provincial tree is the red oak; major industries is fisheries, agriculture and tourism.
I definitely want to climb to the top of a lighthouse; see the lupins; visit a castle; maybe take a boat tour; go through a corn maze (did that near Winnipeg and had a blast); do a hayride; go to some outdoor concerts to hear the pipers and drummers and definitely drive accross Confederation Bridge. I think the Blue Heron Coastal Drive; Points East Coastal Drive and the North Cape Coastal Drive sounds awesome. The beaches, the landscape, the flowers and the birds will make for some beautiful photos.
You need to check this site out www.gentleisland.com
The countdown is on to June 22, 2008.

Hi Judy!! I have been to PEI numerous times... you will SOOOO LOVE IT!!!
I suggest a seal watching cruise out of Murray River, a hot fudge sundae in Murray Harbour.
Check out the courtyard near Confederation Centre, they often have outdoor plays for FREE! We saw a couple, and they are way too fun.
You must also do all things Anne/Lucy Maud Montgomery, take in the musical, th en go have some COWS ice-cream... oh the things you can do there!
Basin Head beach is lovely with it's silica sand. Hmmm... what else have I done there?! LOL!
LOTS!!
