The RCMP Musical Ride - June 20, 2007

My friend, Joan and I decided to go see the Musical Ride in Langenburg, Sask. This little town is just 25 mins from Russell. We went early enough to do a bit of shopping, have supper and then attend the show. We were both very happy we did.

I have seen the musical ride several times but I think this was my favorite. We were so close, even with my little digital I got some great photos and little videos. There was a bit of entertainment before the main attraction; a dance group and two young ladies sang and they were very good. As the last girl sang, we could see the Musical Ride coming down the road in formation, what a beautiful sight, amazing and made me so proud to be Canadian.

I am going to share some of my photos with you all:

The dance group of 6 young ladies.

Jessica singing and Erin was the second to sing.

The little kids were having a blast dancing.

The Musical Ride coming down the road.

The Ride arrives behind the bleachers!

They prepare to give the salute to the guest of honor who happen to be the mother of the leader of the Ride - he surprised her!

This is the leader below:

Greeting the spectators at the end of the show. They were all very good with the kids.

Later they road back through town to the stables. Excellent show and well worth seeing if you have never been.

The Musical Ride IS fantastic isn't it!???! We went a few years back in Salmon Arm, BC. It was such a hot day but they faired so well. I am a big mountie fan (I have one who lives with me *smiles*). Our kids go through the life of sirens and flashing lights every day. It's like they never tire of it...so to see mounties on horses was something very special for them...and for us.

Thanks Alli for your comments. The RCMP have always had my respect, my great, great grandfather was a member of the Northwest Mounted Police so it has gone back a long ways. As a paramedic I worked alongside alot of our Mounties and like us they have a thankless job by many but we do it because we love it. I am now retired from my paramedic duties.
