Well I made it another year and completed 60km and raised $2800.00 so far and YES I signed up for next year again.
I had so much fun with my teamates: Roger and Judy. We kept each other going, helped with tending to blisters and stretching and laughed alot. We met up with some awesome people along the way both walking and cheering us on. There were young people providing water, watermelon, lemonade, Gatorade, and just giving us lots of cheers and thanks for walking. It was wonderful and gives the body a lift when it is so tired it does not want to walk another km. The areas we walked in this year were wonderful with alot fewer street lights than last year which meant that we did not have to stop and stand as long waiting for lights to change. All the crew members and staff were wonderful; they kept us safe and well fed and watered; gave us medical assistance when we needed it and back at camp there were massage therapists, chiropractor, nurses....it was awesome. I did not stick around for the bra contest they had as I stayed at the hotel with my hubby and I was in bed by 8:30pm and slept like a baby. It was an absolute wonderful experience again and I am so happy that I took part in this worthwhile event. I am signed up and ready to go for 2008 and I will start my fundraising soon. I am enclosing a photo taken by Edwin Saringa from the Weekend to End Breast Cancer.
