It was a stormy day outside so decided it was going to be a scrapbooking day and that is just what I did all day. My hubby even made supper for me tonight so that I could keep on scrapping and stamping.

I did a challenge on this layout, we were to do a layout based on a
song so I used the song "Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning" by Alan Jackson and did photos of the World Trade Center tragedy and where I was. I was actually at the lake with my Mom and I heard it over the radio, it was total disbelief. I did not see it on TV until 2 days later and all I could do was cry. I had wished I was there to help my fellow paramedics, I felt so helpless here in Manitoba. I would not have been much help b/c of my asthma but I could have listened. The sadness is still there for all those lost and for the families.

This layout is of some of the beautiful photos of sunsets my Mom has taken of Whitefish Lake. She loves this lake and has volunteered there for the last 18 yrs as a Campground Host. I have been going to this lake since I was a child.

This layout is to honour my Aunt Lorraine and Uncle Ken as they will be celebrating their 50
th wedding anniversary in April. I was the flower girl on the left. I was a sickly child and remember that day seemed so long. I kept wanting to sit on the floor during the ceremony as my legs were tired and my Uncle Bert kept lifting me up..
lol. I was born with a complete congenital heart block and only had a pulse of 30-40 beats per minute at that time so no wonder I was tired, eh?

This is my Grade 12 graduation, I was so proud of myself this day. I never thought I would graduate, actually I never thought I would be alive to graduate. I had my pacer
inserted in my Grade 11 year and I rejected the pacemaker so spent most of the year in hospital. I was at school only 2 months of that school year but I had an awesome teacher and friend that made sure I got all my assignments and I kept my schoolwork up. My
principal, Mr. Orchard fought the school board for me so that I could write my departmental exams at the hospital, they were not happy about it but in the end they allowed it. Mr. Orchard sat with me at the hospital while I wrote them. The doctor gave me a
Demerol shot so I could sit long enough to write the exams (I had
pericardial effusions - fluid around the heart and lungs and the pain was terrible). I passed all my exams but 2 and the school board gave me a board pass in one (b/c all my assignments had good marks) and the other subject I took along with my Grade 12 the next year. After many ambulance trips to Winnipeg, chest tubes,
pericardialscentesis and lots of tears, my body finally quit rejecting the pacer and I had an awesome Grade 12 year and graduated. Sorry the story is so long..

I am preparing this paint can as a donation tin to put at the businesses for my Breast Cancer Walk Fundraiser. I still have to type up the info for the front.

I made a few more items as well. The box on the right will contain 6 small gift cards and the 2 small candy items will be thank you for your support gifts at my fundraiser table that I will have at our mini mall here in town.
Well I think I will call it a night, I have had a busy day so need to get some shut eye as 6am comes early. Have a good night and thanks for checking out my blog.
